Depending
on the nature of a client's research project, Sentenium uses
one or more techniques. An overview:
Surveys - A traditional form of research used to gauge attitudes and
opinions from a representative sample of respondents. Surveys
are the most popular and common form of research to quantify
and evaluate statistical results.
Vocal/Content
Analysis - A traditional form of analysis that provides meaningful
information about the words individuals use to answer open-ended
questions on surveys, in interviews, or in focus groups. Those
words and phrases are categorized based on various criteria:
frequency of use, positive or negative intent, complaints
vs. non-complaints, etc. The goal is to quantifiably
determine why people use certain words and phrases and how
they are using them to communicate.
Interviews - A traditional form of exploratory research used to gather
basic information. Sentenium can conduct in-depth, structured
interviews face-to-face, via the telephone, or the Internet.
Group
Discussion - A less traditional form of research used to gather non-verbal
as well as verbal insights, in structured group environments.
Depending on the situation, we record group discussions on
audio or video. The flow of ideas that occurs in a group discussion
setting can lead to opportune and unexpected discoveries.
Structural
Equation Modeling (SEM) - SEM is a non-traditional and complex form of standard multivariate
analytical methods that includes regression, factor analysis,
correlation, and analysis of variance.
Expressions - "Expressions research" seeks to capture both conscious
and unconscious stimuli communicated through facial expressions.
It is a non-traditional technique with the ultimate goal being the ability to use digital
imagery to capture and code emotions from a standard set of
facial expressions.
