When
processing printed forms and surveys, Sentenium's high-performance
scanning technology goes through three basic stages:
1.
Document input
We
can scan surveys of any length, whether one page or multiple
pages. Documents can be as small as 3x5 (inches) and as large
as 11x17.
2.
Data conversion
Our
software looks for marks or hand-written characters and converts
them into electronic form.
How
our machines scan the data and how quickly they scan it depends
on whether the forms are Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) or
Optical Character Recognition -based. (See Form
and Survey Design for definitions of OMR and OCR.)
3.
Data verification and cleaning
The
software flags all questionable documents, which might include
surveys that have blank fields, multiple responses to one
question, or information that the software cannot read. Those
documents can then be addressed one by one.
The
end result: Your documents are processed with near-100% accuracy.
